Parcel+Post Expo 2025: Three inspiring days in Amsterdam

A milestone event marked by strong industry interest and the debut of our 5th-generation locker solutions.

Oct 24, 2025

This year’s Parcel+Post Expo in Amsterdam delivered three days of exceptional energy, meaningful discussions, and a clear outlook on where the delivery industry is heading. With growing attention on locker autonomy, modular expansion and user-centric design, the event once again proved why it remains the world’s leading innovation hub for postal and logistics technology.

For Direct4.me, the Expo marked an important moment: the first public presentation of the 5th generation of Direct4.me parcel lockers. Visitors explored new capabilities such as Direct4Pay for contactless payments, Direct4Talk, AI-powered voice support directly from the locker, an enhanced Smart CCTV system with event-based recording and configurable compartments adaptable to any location type.

The conversations at the booth highlighted a shared industry challenge: designing delivery networks that are dense, autonomous, flexible and sustainable - across public, residential and commercial spaces. From solar-powered operation to UX-driven interfaces and modular configurations, the next generation of parcel lockers is moving toward higher adaptability with significantly reduced operational constraints.

Tadej Visinski: The future of locker autonomy

In the Locker Room panel, our CEO, Tadej Visinski joined industry leaders to discuss the future of power autonomy in parcel lockers.
He offered practical insights from Direct4.me’s field experience - showing how factors such as uptime, maintenance, energy budgeting and real-world operating conditions determine whether solar, battery arrays or swappable batteries deliver the most sustainable results.
Tadej emphasized that the winning approach will be the one that ensures consistent performance at scale, while keeping total cost of ownership low and supporting diverse deployment environments, from dense urban hotspots to low-infrastructure rural areas.

Klemen Pavačič: How AI is reshaping parcel interaction

At the AI Parcel Lab, Klemen Pavačič, our product manager, focused his keynote on accessibility - specifically how parcel lockers can be designed to support blind and visually impaired users, as well as people with limited mobility.

He showed how accessibility emerges through real collaboration with users, following the principle “designed with, not for, ensuring that every feature reflects genuine needs and real-world feedback.
Klemen demonstrated how user interfaces can be adapted through voice assistance, tactile and visual cues and screen placement at a height suitable for wheelchair users.
He also highlighted features such as precisely defined delivery-height zones for mobility-impaired customers and clear audible notifications indicating which compartment has opened, making parcel interaction intuitive, safe and universally accessible.

We are bringing home valuable insights, new connections, and a renewed sense of ambition for the next development cycle. A sincere thank you to everyone who visited the booth, tested the new features, and shared their feedback. The team leaves Amsterdam inspired — and excited for what comes next.
