Direct4.me at Leaders in Logistics Summit 2026: A Reality Check for Urban Delivery

Discussing accessibility, parcel lockers and the future of last-mile delivery infrastructure in Brussels

Mar 9, 2026

Next week, the logistics industry will gather in Brussels for one of Europe’s most influential events dedicated to the future of last-mile delivery and urban logistics - the Leaders in Logistics Summit 2026.

From 17–18 March 2026, industry leaders, postal operators, technology companies and delivery innovators will meet at The EGG in Brussels to explore how delivery infrastructure must evolve to support the rapid growth of e-commerce.

Direct4.me will once again be part of the conversation.

For our team, these events are not just about trends and presentations. They are an opportunity to compare ideas discussed on stage with the realities we see every day while deploying parcel lockers and smart delivery infrastructure across urban environments.

Accessibility: an overlooked challenge in last-mile delivery

On Day 2 of the summit (18 March at 12:15, Green Stage), Klemen Pavačič, Product Lead at Direct4.me, will present a keynote titled: “Accessibility: Urban delivery’s reality check.”

The talk addresses a topic that often receives less attention in discussions about parcel locker networks and out-of-home delivery systems - accessibility.

As cities deploy more parcel lockers and automated delivery solutions, an important question emerges:

Are these systems actually designed for everyone?

Real-world urban delivery environments are used by a diverse population: elderly users, people with disabilities and customers interacting with lockers in complex city environments.

Designing delivery infrastructure that works for all users requires a different perspective - one that combines UX design, hardware decisions and operational realities.

At Direct4.me, accessibility is treated as a fundamental product design principle rather than an edge case.

Our latest generation of parcel lockers includes accessibility features such as Direct4Talk, a voice-guided interaction system designed to support blind and visually impaired users and align with the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

Learning from real urban deployments

Direct4.me develops autonomous parcel locker solutions designed for flexible deployment in urban environments. Unlike traditional locker systems that require fixed infrastructure, Direct4.me lockers operate independently using battery and solar power, enabling installation without permanent electricity or connectivity. This architecture allows operators to deploy locker networks faster and in more diverse locations - from dense city centers to residential buildings and remote areas. But it also brings an important advantage for product development: constant feedback from real-world usage. Because our teams work directly with locker installations across Europe, we continuously observe how couriers and customers interact with delivery infrastructure outside controlled testing environments. And those observations often lead to one simple conclusion: Solutions that look good in strategy presentations must ultimately prove themselves in everyday urban life.

Meeting the industry in Brussels

The Leaders in Logistics Summit provides a valuable opportunity for the industry to exchange insights, challenge assumptions, and discuss how delivery infrastructure must evolve to support the future of e-commerce.

If you are attending the event, our team would be happy to connect and continue conversations around:
    •    parcel locker infrastructure
    •    smart delivery networks
    •    accessibility in last-mile delivery
    •    scalable out-of-home delivery systems
